What i have now: when i get everything running outside the PGr i get over 45 frames/second. The final file is of large dimension(2400,1920). I need to do a color sampling for each and every child shape based on it’s centroid. The situation is: I’m importing an svg with 860 child Polygons.
Firstly the the tracking seemed to lag a lot and secondly the image did not move with the person, but rather masked behind them, so this would not work for me as I want the image on the tshirt to move when the person does. Syphon allows multiple programs running on the same computer to share rendered video with each other in real time without introducing additional processing. I’m having a large issue with performance loss using PGraphics.

The software comes with a high-speed video player, which ensures superior quality streaming without latency. There were some issues with this experiment, which means I won’t be using it for my project. I appropriated a gorgeous HD image of the night Dallas skyline of the web. It is a relatively simple MM BackDrop project using projection mapping concepts on a selected background image. I then used Module 8 as a Syphon for the graphics that would project onto the Kinect mask. The first project (of five projects) is due on 22 Jan with Crit (and this Blog). For this I had to plug the Kinect into the laptop, launch Mad-KinectMasker and select the relevant part of the Kinect feed.

Syphon is an open-source Mac OS technology that allows to share still and moving images between Mac OS applications in real-time.This evening I tested out the new Mad Mapper plug in which uses the Kinect to mask a persons movement. It is a very powerful tool for quick prototyping and also for creating finished applications. The next step is connecting the graphics to the Pi Cap.

Quartz Composer is a visual programming environment, included with Apple’s developer tools, that allows you to quickly creates ophisticated motion graphics compositions without having to write code. PocketVJ has no image available to download and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to. You can also map your projection easily, without having to write your own projection mapping tool while youre at it. This means you can use all the effects in Resolume on your generative visuals made in Processing or VVVV.
